curious to know what you mean with practice branching.
If you mean you want to try to get branches at a certain point.. Branches are grown to fit the idea of composition and future of the tree as you have it in mind. If you do not want to think about the future image, then I am not sure what you want to do here.
i've seen em upside down as well .. it's a new style of bonsai, where the artist creates the art of taking a crappy malsai and than puts the whole thing on it's side or upside down..
branching.. you know..
but before going onto branching i'd go for some more trunking...
Yeah sorry what i meant was ramification.
And sorry for the sideways photo ill try my best to remember to rotate it next time
I was planning to post pictures as i attempt to create a good ramification so yous could tell me if im doing the right thing or not and other begginers could learn from my mistakes .
Ps : i think this tree might never become a good bonsai so im just practicing on it so that i can put my experience in use on better material .
Ok so im ready to start on the first branch , i have drawn lines on the branches because its easier to identify them as i couldnt get a good photo of them.
So what i had in plan was to keep the red and the blue branches and cut off the grey and brown ones so that it would form a nice simple V shape.
Is that the right way to go ?
