I was curious if it would be stressful for a tree (specifically a Juniper, Chinese Elm and Trident Maple) to move it between indoors (60W grow light, 70-75 F) and outdoors (afternoon sun, 65-75 F). Would it be better to just leave the trees indoors with the grow light? My balcony only gets sun from about 2-5pm and I am located in Southern California so the weather stays fairly stable.
Thanks for your input!

Those trees should be left outside all the time.

Well, Ideally they should be moved to a spot where they will receive more than 3 hours of sun per day, It's too dry inside for them.

my idea was to have them outside during the hours when my balcony gets sun and then just bring them inside during the morning/early afternoon to add to the amount of light they get. I was just worried that this would be stressful for the trees having a constantly changing environment.

They should be fine outside as long as the temp doesn't get down to freezing. Almost all of my trees are outside all the time. Indirect sun is better for a tree than sunfiltered light thru a window. Even sun light bounced off a building can be good.
