I have repotted a number of trees using Bonsai Focus Repotting Mix, I've noticed that after watering through it seems to hold a lot of moisture for days. Even a full day after watering I can push down on the surface and push water out of the compost. Is this too wet or is it normal for this type of compost?

I can't tell you if this is normal for this type of soil as I don't use it - and I expect hardly anyone on this forum does.

It's hard to tell either if it's too wet. One thing you did not tell us is what type of trees you've potted in it.

I have seen it here in the UK Auk, I got excited... That is until I saw the ingredients. it contains quite a lot of peat which is self explanatory. I would not recommend it .

I might add in some akadama and gravel and see how that works out.

I think you should add in some of the compost and add a predominant amount of the akadama, IMHO, if you really wish to use the compost. however it is your choice :)

60:40 mix? I'll mix up a small amount and see how it drains.
