Erm... I am sure you know this is not a bonsai?

What was written on the package? Were there more species than only this one? Which tree seeds did the package say it contained?

I bought a a kit named "Grow It, Bonsai trees". It wasn't written on the box what kind it is. I think it was 5 different ones but no names on the box.. www.prezzybox.com/grow-it-bonsai-tree.aspx

Ah yes... "Gives you a chance to grow a range of different bonsai trees."
You do not need a kit for that. What it contains are ordinary seeds. There is NO such thing as bonsai seed.
Yes, you can grow a bonsai, but please understand it will take you 15 years before you've got something to start with.

Looks like a pine to me. Can't be sure though.

This one that sprouted is some sort of Pine.
But all this sounds very weird, the "bonsai kit" was sold with no information about the seeds it contained?
And the tree illustrating the ad (in the background) is an ugly ficus benjamina.

Thank you for the reply, funny, everyone in my family says that I will be an old man until the tree grows out (if).
Did some research, may be a pine indeed. I hope it survives for 15 years from now though :), going to buy a smaller tree to practice on.

most of these kits i see being sold usually come with Japanese maple seeds, pinus mugo pumilio, and betula seeds. this is most likely some sort of pine. like mentioned above.

did a quick search of this kit.

amazon sells this same kit and list the trees below as being an assortment of seeds in the packet.
Cydrus atlantica (Cedar tree)
Cryptomeria Japonica (Sugi tree)
Pinus excelsa (Pine tree)
Pinus roxburghii (Pine tree)
Thuja orientalis (Arborvitae or Conifer)
Abies (fir tree)
acer palmatum (Japanese red maple)

So far my tree looks like this, picture was taken in late october, I repotted it because the roots started to grow against the coconutshelled pot. Bought some ”bonsai nutrients” and added in the water aswell. Has this tree grown too slow in 11 months? During winter now I keep it on a glassed balcony where much light comes in during the day.
