Hello,

This Ulmus was sold to me as an ulmus parvifolia. But I doubt that it is an ordinary ulmus parvifolia


One of the reasons i'm in doubt is because i saw this three. A 100 year old parvifolia.


Or my tree is way older or it is an other subspecie.
So my question is, is there anybody who can help identify this tree?
It would be nice to know the subspecie.

Would it not be local growing conditions that affect it? I have one in my garden which has bark like yours. And that is a geisha variety.

I don't know about the griwing conditions. It has been imported 10years ago to England. I asked the first european owner for pictures but he has none. So i would be able to see some differeces.
It is not a geisha, the leafs shoukd be yelliw when they come out. Mine were green.

Thank you. But no zelkova. The leaves are different.

I agree its not a zelkova which is also call grey bark elm , Its a Japanese cork bark elm. Ill give you the scientific name when I get home
