Hi, I've had these two fukien tea bonsai trees for over 2 years. They had been doing beautifully, but in the last two weeks or so, they have dropped almost all leaves, and in the places where the leaves dropped there are fuzzy spots.

I have seen those fuzzy balls on fukiens before. Nobody have given a trustworthy identification. All cases have been on trees kept in livingroom conditions and it always happen in authum when our house heating kicks in. I believe it is conected to low humidity.

OH, yes. I have seen people using antifungal treatment on it without success. So my conclusion is that it is not fungi.

The best theory I have seen is that the fuzz comes from the tree itself and is some kind of stress reaction. Not the reason, but a symptom.

Thank you. I will try increasing humidity. Also, it looks like new buds are coming out of some of the fuzzy spots.
