i have bought a serissa foetida at the 40th anniversary of the dutch bonsai association(not the one on my profile picture) and i wanted to know what kind of serissa it is and when the threading needs to be removed, i do not know when it was put on the tree, youri1995 might know because i bought it from him.

it looks better than on the picture, the tree stands on the windowsill next to a window facing south, where it gets a nice amount of sun and also it has greener leaves than before.

and also, does anyone know how to make a picture have less pixels(smaller memory size) because i can only post 1 picture per post.

Ref the pics, Make sure your camera is on the lowest setting (VGA).Or using a program like Photoshop, you can reduce the image even further.

Hey, I think you arlready have the type of species, its a serissa foetida, which is the small leaved species, they have extremely sensitive roots, and they are very hard to repot and still being able to ensure its survival. Not quite sure what you mean by threading, do you mean the wire? If so, you can check it yourself, if the wire seems to be biting a bit into the bark then it should come off. Nice purchase by the way, it has some great taper, If it where mine I would think out the foliage and wire the foliage pads so you can see more of the trunk.

Don't know when the tree has been wired, but as already said: if you see it's biting in the bark, remove it ;)

these trees are supposed to smell bad when the leaves are crushed.
the latin name fotida means fetid or "rotten" im just curious if this is true and if so how bad it really smells
