I got this tree as a birthday gift. I think it is a magnolia but not sure. Just want to make sure so I know how to water it.

Thanks

Hi there... I'm not so sure either. It doesn't look like a magnolia tree to me. It ressembles more to a ficus, I think. That would have been my first bet.

G'day one and all, we have a stick in a pot that looks exactly like that and when we purchased it from the nursery we were told that it was a Tiger Bark Ficus. I'll go with what Bob and Orlando wrote.

Cheers

...and what Alain wrote too, I hope

Now, I´ll assume that you meant how to take care integrally of your tree and not just the watering regime. So, in order to help you I´m leaving you a couple of links that might shed some light on the matter:

Greetings all :)

I just received a beautiful looking (and smelling) bonsai tree for Christmas, and after googling all about them and watching several youtube clips that warn of the dangers of not looking after your bonsai according to what kind it is, I searched out this forum hoping someone can identify what it is. After looking at pictures on the internet my closest guess is a Birds Nest Spruce, but I'll let you be the expert judges!
