Here’s (what I believe to be) a thuja occ. that I picked up from a local show in May it’s enjoying some unrestricted growth this summer.
I love the use of Jin with your thuja! I recently purchased a pre-bonsai thuja firechief, so it's nice to see someone else with a nontraditional bonsai 'tree'
shephered, you must read the rules of this thread. every post must have a picture of one of your trees, so that means you owe us a picture of a tree.
Gah! My trees are not ready yet, especially my thuja. I trimmed a few branches to give it access to more light and wired the trunks closer together so that next year I can twist them without breaking them. I'm embarrassed to show it right now, but I will post my seedling. Recently (a month ago) repoted to give it more room to grow.

Hi everyone. This is my first post here, and first time showing what I've been doing with my ficus. Any ideas and criticism is openly welcomed. Thanks!

Your Ficus looks healthy!
Good job, I like the rock.
Well, my Maple Kotohime sapling thinks it's Spring, even being mid winter around here... It's been sprouting all around!
And BEFORE anyone cries out "CHLOROSIS!" no, their leaves grow like that when very young, then fill ou with green...
Hopefully!

Well, you all remember this little neagari han kengai Elm.
It was soooo sad during this winter that I thought it was going downhill forever.
But...
It EXPLODED with new growth in just three days of sun and plenty of water.
The tree last fall.
And the foliage today. Amazing!

Ho All,
I am brand new to this art form and I hope it complements my koi keeping hobby. Here is a pic of my Maple that I am attempting to bonsai from a +-1m high tree bought at a nursery.
Please feel free to give critical criticism or any advice. ps. I am in South Africa and we are in Spring at the moment. day time temps are between 26 and 30 degrees
