That is so awesome! The box you made for it looks really good too, pretty clever of you. Im 100 sure this tree will survive with such a big root ball that you managed to keep, well done! I just got a yamadori olive from a friend who went out on a dig, the tree had hardly any fine roots remaining, but the tree is said to still have a big chance of making it. So what is your plan with this tree? Are you hoping for new shoots lower the branches and shortening the height? Im interested to hear what you have planned, and watching the progression. Good luck :)

Amazing material you got there. I wish I had friends like yours, all I get are zelkovas. How many people does it take to lift that one?

well i never took a pic of the finished roots and they are mostly gone trying to get it small enough to transport ( dodge magnums aren't made for haulin trees just haulin' ass :P ) they were clogged with clay and rocks ,it took 2 hours of hosing and poking to clear them out.it still had a large amount of feeders tho so it should pull through. as for plans there are none yet ive never seen nor dealt with a bonsai like this one. i have a year or two to think while it recovers ;)

How many people does it take to lift that one?

well the tree itself weighs about 80lbs so i could move it myself ,but with the 30lb box and the 150lbs of soil its a doosie. i put it on an old table with casterwheels on it so i can pull it around without too much effort

Please post pictures of it every few weeks while it's growing
(if you have time). I for one would like to see it's recovery

You lucky the tree didn't fall off when you were hauling ass in ur car. :D :D

It's good the tree still had lots of feeder roots.. And now there's space for more to grow. You can expect some back budding on the tree hopefully, then you can reduce the height a bit. keep us posted :P
