Two things you should never do to a Juniper (Itoigawa in this example)

1-) DON'T be a lazy sloppy wirer. Don't trap foliage under the wires.



2-) DON'T use a propane torch to finish your jin *without protecting the foliage* first.

Seriously, I have had my share of dead conifers to be aware of the big problems but also the small ones.

Wearing a mask, foggy glasses, disaster.
In fact I have protected the area around the jin with aluminium foil, but it was not enough.
The wiring... Well accidents happen.
