Are you planning on letting the trunk grow a lot bigger or are you keeping them small? Just asking because you seem to be pruning your seedlings pretty hard. I have a bunch of 1 year old maples myself and am not sure what to do with them
I have a bunch in the ground, which I trim every other year or so, and whch I lift to work the roots every 2-3 years, as I told you on that other thread.
These I am building in small pots from the start. I aim at 50+cm tall trees with fitting trunks. But over a LOT longer time than the 5 years you would need normally. I have seen some good examples of trees grow from seed over decades.
This is a slow process but can ptentially give you the best trees.
