Hi,

I'm interested in learning more about tree physiology (inspired by an earlier post from Ivan).

Before I start google-ing, can anyone point me in the direction of any texts on the subject that would be worth reading?

Regards,
lupe

Looks like google-ing it is =D.

Ivan: Will do. I have access to an excellent university library so I'm sure I'll find something useful.

I found what might have been a good book a couple of months ago. It turned out to be about tree rings and the way they can be used for archaeology and other dating applications.

Very interesting, but not much physiology there.

Going to have a flick through this at the weekend. Looks like it'll be a good place to start.

Applied Tree Biology
Andrew Hirons, Peter A. Thomas
2018

Contents here:

I have the ebook copy while our library is closed, if you'd like a look I'm sure we could work something out.

Amazon had The Hidden Life of Trees as the next choice after Applied Tree Biology. And after that, The Secret Life of Trees.

I can't figure out how to see the table of contents of either of them and the reviews don't give away the contents, just a rough count of who loved it and who hated it.

What i have been wanting is a basic how trees work to help grow the trees better. Is that what this one does? How they soak up water, fertilizer, defend against bugs, etc.

Is this that?
