Bonsai require 100 times the patience that either of those two things do. most people are not up to the challenge. Which is not a bad thing, it just is. I also am still a beginner in Bonsai, but I enjoy the challenges that it has given me and enjoy learning.

That's the whole idea.
If one enjoys learning, then talking about bonsai, sharing mistakes and progressions, entering the "soil wars", etc... will serve a purpose.
And it's fun anyway.

Clicio, I wanted to ask if it was a good idea to take a very young larch inside after the weather got warm in the middle of winter or I must have left it outside. But I know the answer already, that's a baaad idea.
Also I've got a completely dried myrtle. And a fig, that would never become big enough (at least during my life) to become even a pre-prebonsai. Also a ficus, the only one that has rather thick trunk and small leaves. Maybe one day I'd be brave enough to ask people here what to cut off, if I don't kill it trying to create kind of a good root base, because now the roots look ugly.
Hey, lucky me :))

Irka-Plyushka,

Now I got curious about your ficus.
What if you send us a cropped picture so we don't see the roots?

You know what to expect - an honest answer. So, why worry?
