You're young, good thing, but you're still not going to see your tree look like the example. Your grandchildren, maybe.

I can imagine that it won't go cheap. Any juniper that either has potential or is developed enough that you can really start styling is pretty pricey.

Thank you everyone! I have one last question before I ask it though I want to tell everyone that I hope I can pass this tree down onto my future children and this tree can be passed on between generations, so, I want to choose I very nice shape. On to the question, the tree is very straight, how can I make it more curvy and actually bend the trunk. It hasn’t grown any more thick than a centimeter though. Thank you everyone, you are almost like my second family.

I know I picked another 100+ year old one, lol, buuut, I want to make that general shape out of my tree except at the size it is currently and then it will just keep growing and growing and generally look like that. I just wanted to share my plan. Thank you all!

I think once it starts growing out it will look somewhat like that. All my lifetime I will be growing it to this shape once it starts getting bigger.

If you want to create a bonsai, it is not a good idea to take a mallsai as example.
It's not a good idea either to prune a tree if you don't know why, how and when.

are you keeping it, where it is in the picture? If you are, you maybe have about 1 month or less and then it will die. Junipers need to be outside.
I hope you didn't miss that in all your research.. junipers need to be outside.

Outside it’s dry as a bone and no humidity, I heard people saying that a lot but I thought if I misted the leaves every morning it would be okay. What effect does outside have that I can reproduce inside? Why does it need to be specifically outside? We live in California, not by the coast where junipers actually grow but like in the most annoyingly dry part of California.
