Hi there

I am a bit confused? Should I use a humidity tray from my bonsai tree or use a mist spray for the humidity. The species of my tree according to the instruction card is a Zelkova, and some say it looks like a Chinese Elm. I have attached pictures of the tree and the leaf.

Any feedback would be most helpful

This plant should be outside not in. And humidity trays do not help.

OK but the problem is I live in a flat on the second floor and we have no garden at all. Any alternatives

Not really, trees die inside...

I am in the UK and here is hardly any sun today. So basically my Bonsai is an outside bonsai and not an inside bonsai.

Sorry to say.. You have a chinese elm, Ulmus Parviflora there.
Ik know some people manage to keep them indoors for a long time. BUt you are setting yourself up for an uphill battle. Not many manage to keep these healthy indoors over an extended period of time

I know you are happy with your purchase, but when you think of it: there is not one tree in the entire world that lives naturally indoors... There are species that live in warmer climates / tropics, and our homes are warm, but they also need humidity and ( most of all) sunlight. Plants "eat" sunlight, it is their sorce of energy, or food if you want. All these things you can not mimic inside. I have really green fingers, and struggle each year with my citrus tree when it comes inside. If you take the time to search this forum for dying tree/bonsai, you will find the same question by the dozens, if not hundreds...and I don't think I have ever seen one that comes back here to show how good and healthy their tree is doing...

Good decision !! Don't place it right into the sun, give it some time to climatise: first shade, then morning/ evening sun and the rest of the time shade, then sun.
