I'm a newbie in the bonsai world.

I was offered an Apple Tree bonsai (marked as 17 years old) nearly 1 year ago, I have been watering it weekly and put some fertilizer a couple of times.

All was going well until the last 2 weeks, the leaves are turning brown and are falling.
We are in autumn here but the tree is kept indoors near a window so I don't know if it still follows a deciduous plant cycle or not, newbie me!

Could you guys take a look at some photos and see if all is normal of if there is a problem?

there it is, it is an apple, i think it should definitely be kept outside, but give it protection for this winter.

I am hoping you have not killed it already. Heating => dry air => Dessication of leaves.

Apple trees should be outside. Always.
Move it outside, protect from the frost (So perhaps you have a shed?) and hope that in springtime the buds swell, and leavs appear.

Yeah makes sense, about a month ago we started turning on the central heating daily, ~40% air humidity.

I will move it outside tomorrow to a sheltered space, should I acclimatize it first before going 100%? Like bring it inside during the night or something?

I was planning for a long time to do some reading to learn but never got the time, I already lost a Juniper last year...

moving plantrs from indoors to outdoors mainly is a problem if you have frost. If you do have frost, move it through a unheated shed. If there is no frost, and none expected the next ~2 weeks, just put it outside.

No frost for now, min temperature is at 10ºC
