Around here, "chainsaw" means something for cutting a tree or limb a foot or larger in diameter, that is close to half a meter. I was thinking more in terms of chisels and Dremel tools, maybe a power drill to start off.


Here it is the same tool. See the yellow thing in the background of the third (?) picture?
Note this olive is well over a foot in diameter at the base.

I was thinking more in terms of chisels and Dremel tools, maybe a power drill to start off.


Even the finer work was a bit heavier than that: a makita & Nibbler bonsai carving tool and a variety of the terrier tool..
I do expect to take off way more wood later on. So the really fine work with dremel is for later. Maybe next year once I have done all the rough shaping.

Good question. I am considering putting it up for sale as the tree does not talk to me :)
