Wrong timing to repot a Ficus? was created by Clicio

Hi all;

I've got a new young Ficus from a nursery, but I think the roots have taken all the pot, almost no soil left; it's compacted and difficult to water it.
They could not tell me precisely when this tree was last re-potted.
It's now the first month of Autumn here in the South hemisphere; do you guys think I can safely repot it (with no severe root pruning ) to change the soil before winter? OR should I wait until Spring?
Thanks!

It´s a ficus, you will be overwintering it indoors I hope, so no problem, I would repot ficus any time of the year :)
Especially when it is rootbound, you just bought it, you don´t know what soil it is growing in, and looks healthy I suppose.

Thanks Kristof, I'll go for it.
Yes, it looks healthy and let me tell you; winter here is a joke compared to Northern hemisphere. It will survive. I hope. :-)

Just keep it inside when temperatures are lower than 15°C.
