Hi, here 's a Belgian entry: I used 18 Capsicum annuum Naga Jolokia Tezpur, sown in February. They are between 40 and 50 cm now. I put them in a 25 liter bucket so I can keep it inside. To make the plants fuse I used bindwire. Here 's how we did it.

that's really interesting. I have been playing with the idea of a functional bonsai for a while and I have tried a rosemary bonsai ( with no success as I was inexperienced). but I also love spicy food. maybe I will have to try this out. where do you get your seeds? I got mine from a friend as a gift but I only have one.

My wife is Thai so that explains the interest for chilipeppers here :) I was inspired by Fatalii . I started with seeds from a pepper we bought but you can buy them in a gardencentre or online seedshop.
Here 's my own favourite in February:

This is amazing, I had no idea this could be done. Just discovered this website thisafternoon and am new to this. Was inspired by a japanese garden (a tiny back garden in UK) with lots of bonsai that I saw a week ago so I am at last getting round to tackling my trees.

growing nicely there! My trees have not started to thicken yet; I think the second half of summer is the time that happens, normally?

Darling, your rope??? Is biting into the trees. Maybe to remove it and tape it with some electrical tape or sellotape even, around all the plants?
Very original idea!
Here chilly grows 2m and becomes a shrub that leaves for many years... very woody trunk!
