The weather hasn't turned yet, and the maple tree in the front yard is still green as can be, except for the airlayer branches which were green up to Monday. They look very autumn orange and yellow.

Does that mean cut them off now?

I cut one off three weeks ago and the roots weren't very long, and I hesitate to take the rest off too soon.

Normally the rest of the tree will change in about three weeks.

I have no idea Ivan, I always separate my air layers much sooner ( summer). Never left them on into autumn, so I'll follow this thread too.

The air layer kit has one half clear plastic. I cunningly put the air layers about 10 or 12 feet in the air so I can barely, but I don't see any roots at all.

Fot metric folks, that is twice my height, in any measure.
