I went through and only cut what was growing down and dead. I've watched countless videos, read forums and anything else I could find. It's totally different when you have to start cutting. I was thinking about the first picture for the front of the tree. I need a little guidance on what I should prune next if anything. I was going to repot it as soon as I found a pot I liked.

Boxwood is awesome to practice right, the fact that they are frequently pruned to keep shape can give you some good options to go with.

It's kind of hard to loose that indecision on what to cut and what to keep, eventually it will be easier to decide in most cases, but still, sometimes I look at a branch for months to decide what to do with it.

I would bring it a bit lower, or it would bud mostly on the tips, by the way on a Boxwood is good to avoid leaving a branch without leafs, it tends to dry out, so have that in mind when prunning back.
I agree on the front you chosed based on the pics.
About the pot, maybe you can wait for the next season, or the other one.
Just so you can build a structure with better response from the plant you know.

Best way to learn is studying and practicing.

I looked at it a few more days and decided to prune it a little more. There is still a few branches I have no idea what to do with. The lowest branch on the right side is weird looking to me and the two on the left trunk that shoot straight up. I'm going to leave it alone for now. I will wait until next year to repot it.

Looking nice, I think it's ok for now, you don't have to decide all at once...
Let it get bushy again, and you'll have more to select.
