I use it (besides thanking someone for a good answer or piece of information) :
To agree with someone or something.
To say "I like it".

What about you?

For me exactly the same, but sometimes I don’t tap the button when I did thanking in my reply.

Yes, of course it does!

Yeah, as a thank-yu / I like it.
In general on fora I use it to see whether the people responding to me seem to be in line with forum opinion, and to test whether my answers are the right ones. I do notice a reduction in "thank yous" received lately.

i try to use it for of course thanking someone for an answer to my question:
-good reply
-helpful topic
-thanks for sharing (progression, knowledge facts, etc)
-good comments

I didn’t pay too much attention for the number of “thanks” until this topic. I used to use the function as Clicio do. After observing for a while, I realized is more of a question of popularity or fun than anything else. I did two test posts. One useful where I did research and ensembling data, and one fun without effort. Guess what....
