Identify the bonsai tree was created by prerakbhagat

Hello guys,
I picked this tree up from a nursery almost a month ago.
I keep this tree outdoors and do good watering and misting.
I tried identifying it online but can’t find anything and also the guy in the nursery didn't know about this tree. He said this is a flowering tree and leaves turn red in spring and stay green year around.

Thanks

Yup, Berberis, the really yellow wood is easy to recognise.

Ps: if the nursery doesn't know you'd better not go there again....

A little clean up on the bottom growth and it looks like it has a really nice aerial root system there.
Very nice.

Berberis doesn't have aerial roots.

I guess you mean radial roots?

Are aerial roots not roots above ground?

Strictly spoken yes, but what we refer to as aerial roots are roots that come down from a branch, like you see with old banyan trees f.I. in the tropics,
Roots like you see here are normal (ground)roots, where the soil was washed away or that just grew out of the soil.
