They are very slow growing Species but make great trees to train as Bonsai.
They can be fussy about root disturbance when repotting and will not thicken in size very fast in a pot.
Ground growing of the Cedars in the way to go for a number of years to bulk up the main trunk , they do not however Backbud freely (if at all) so all steps need to be taken to ensure some low branching remains in order to train the next stages. They can be trained as a smaller tree. Wire bite into the Cedars bark can take forever to grow out especially if the bark was Damaged so again all care should be taken to Not damage Cedar bark.They will appreciate alot of Sun and plenty of water as long as the Bonsai medium is freedraining and doe not remained water soaked.Branches can take along time to Set in position when wired and this may test the growers patients.
