About 20 years ago a received as a present from my students a fícus tree. I took care of it for some years and left it aside for some more years, it grew wildly. Some weeks ago I took it again and pruned it. I want a suggestion to follow up. Shall I prune some branches? Those marked in red. Cheers.

Asher, the leaves are a bit too spotted, are you sure it is not some fungal issue?

Maybe, what shall I do? I’ve heard that spraying soap and vinegar may help.

I use either Fungidor or Bordeaux mix (calda bordalesa). Insecticidal soap is good for aphids but not for fungi.

I would try the cheapest, easiest, and fastest method first, and progress to more expensive, etc., when something proves not effective. You could jump right to Most expensive and hardest to apply, but I wouldn't.

Cheap, easy, and you can do right now is turn the hose on it and hit under the leaves for a long time. That will knock everything off. If they come back tomorrow, proceed to something harder.
