yes yamadori are colected from wild but are not necessarely stunted ive seen trees with 12 inch diameter trunks used .what baffels me is they chainsaw these things out of the ground they are basically a stunp with the roots cut off and they get them to grow and after 10 years and some deadwood carving the trees are spectacular

Hm.. I think this is a fruitless discussion if I now start: You ar wrong! :evil: But just because you have seen people taking big trees from the wild, using chansaws to bring them to size, does not mean that the use of the word yamadori for such tree is correct :D
