These annoying spammers...
Is there a way to "ignore" or "block" the author short of reporting to Oscar?

I use several email addresses, each for a different interest and group I communicate with. It helps that my email names are very unusual and not common names or variations. I also use Thunderbird rather than read mail online. it has a nice spam tracking feature. Between that and Bitdefender's spam blocking and spammer labeling features, the only one's I can't eliminate are those African officials who have $$millions$$ to share with me. But, even those guys get through only once!

I do the same - sometimes, if I have to supply an e-mail address, I create one for that specific purpose, so I know that, if I get spam on that address, where it comes from.

However, that's all irrelevant. It won't help against the (Korean) spam this forum recently has been flooded with. The only option is to report it to the moderator so it gets removed.

Jups - report it and I'll get rid of it asap

I simply use gmail online and had the same email adress for the past 6 years and only get about 10 spam mails a year. All of them in the 'spam' labelled folder, where they belong..

I think Oscar do the best what he can do. If they got in an automatic spam filtering, it’ll stupidly throwing out the links and ip of real members in high percentage also. The best just report, delete, block, repeat...

In that case, its obvious when a topic is spam, report it and go ahead. I don't think it takes too much effort and time. I don't bother with them too much

Well... I guess you did not see the spam this morning. There were more than 50 - so all you saw was spam and no bonsai related messages.
Fortunately, Oscar removed them quickly, but it is getting worse. This Korean spam is increasing in volume every day.

That really is a lot and I bet it was extremely annoying
