Hello everybody!

It seems that the temperature is dropping around my area, zone 8b, the temperature has now been dropping under 50 degrees as of late and i am worried that my plant will be hurt.

It will be just fine down to about 30. It should get some shelter ( old frame, unheated room/garage) if you’re expecting below 25, particularly if windy.

In 8b your elm should be able to stay out all winter, no problems whatsoever.
Mine stay out all winter, in 7.

By the way, international forum. To avoid confusion, either use the international standard for temperature (c) or indicate which scale you use, I presume F?

thats great to hear! is there anything i can look out to to see if it's being unhappy with the temperatures? my worry is that it is not conditioned enough to the outside temperatures due to me purchasing it 1 month ago.

Yup. Owned by a dutch company. But the owner allows people from other countries to use this too, which is why it is in English, so people from different backgrounds can participate.

Trees dont look at thermometers. Don't worry, it will be fine. The only thing you have to react to is long deep frost ( -10 and more)day and night so the rootball freezes completely. In that case place it in an unheated garden shed or conservatory where it doesn't freeze but never indoors in a room with heating
