Does anyone know what this black spots are and what to do? The tree is a liquidambar

Could be a fungal infection.
If there are not too many leaves affected, take them off. Else, spray with a fungicide.
Are you sure of the species? The leaves are nothing like any liquidambar I have ever seen.

I'm not sure. It was sold to me as if it was haha! But I've been wondering. Tomorrow I'll try identify it! Thanks, I'm going to isolate and spray

It's not a Liquidambar as far as I know.
