Lovely tree!

Thank you for the video. When I saw you post about this a few months ago I was curious to see how the scar had healed from the trunk chop. Have you worked on that yourself? It certainly blends in nicely to give a nice, gnarled look.

Thanks Lil Lupe! Yes, I did that myself. Exact four years ago I unfortunately discovered a soft, spounchy bark at this place. It had great bark at that place!

All I could do is remove the bark and the soft tissue under it. My teacher, Manuel Germade, gave the tip to make a kind of flow, so water could get away. I only used some handtools, and time did the rest...

This was right after removing the rotten tissue:

And now, 4 years later, it looks like this. I just treated with some wood hardener, that's all...

Awesome, nicely done. I think it adds a lot of character, and the appearance of age. It's reminiscent of ancient Oaks I've seen here in the UK.

Last weekend the Oak was part of the bonsaishow 'Bonsai van het Westen' in Delft, Holland. I'm proud to say that my tree won the first price of all decidious trees!

Well deserved, Marco!
The combination of tree/pot is stunning, and the tree speaks for itself.
Great progression thread!

I like the combination with the kinda rusty, barndoor kinda table. you can imagine an old shed, rusty hinges with an oak tree leaning to the door. All your elements tell a story. I just don't see the link with your kusamo and it's to far away from the tree to be part of that story.
Neverless, this is a beautifull tree, congrat's.
