Would you be kind enough to tell us which species is your grafted bare beauty?;)

Another Palmatum shot right now on top of my car's hood.

Ah, the foliage from Itoigawa is soo nice!
A classic for grafted junipers.
BTW, this "mother" is a beautiful tree, the slant makes it very special, thank you for showing!

Below that small Juniper (Shimpaku) which was worked in spring, mostly the deadwood on the top.

I am just getting started and have a few smaller trees in training, but here is a laceleaf Japanese Maple that was in the garden of the Home I just bought. The previously owners let it die off and it is just coming back to life so I put it in a training pot and I am babying it. I love how much it shows its death and rebirth! here are both the before and after.

Clicio, the whole Azalea have burgundy flowers? ..or if not, do you pay attention more for the color placement or the structure of the tree?

Felidae, I just discovered mine above is a Kurume Azalea, not a Satsuki , but yes, the whole tree is covered in flowers by the end of Spring.
Common knowledge says if the leaves are reddish, the flowers also will be red (a myth? I don't know...).

Below a Japanese bush cherry, or Niwa-ume (Prunus japonica) in flower (it's mid winter in the southern hemisphere)

Clicio, I think you misunderstood the question, but you answered it on the same time :). You have the same color in the entire tree, so you need to pay attention just for the structure.

May I explain why I asked.. I was curious if you, or someone experience similar challenges.
We spoke about that disturbing branch just under the apex on my new tree. Like I’ve got it after flowering and even if I saw some white-Red dead flowers fallen, I could have branches with just white(good), or just magenta(not good) flowers. What I’ve heard, I need to pay attention for the color positions, meanwhile I failed to save the image of the flowering tree from the site when I ordered it..

Kind of a mountain maple stump...

Hey guys,

I’m brand new to this forum and am super happy to be in the company of so many like-minded individuals. My interest in bonsai started about 7-8 years ago but never took it seriously until this year. I love seeing the trees of others, both for inspiration and pure enjoyment. I thought this thread would be a nice way to hop in the forum and start posting.

Here’s (what I believe to be) a thuja occ. that I picked up from a local show in May :) it’s enjoying some unrestricted growth this summer.

I look forward to future interactions with you all.

Daniel
