Easter holiday was a great time to go and collect some rocks and glue them into the landscape.

wow look how much that's growing. How is the weather where you live?

It is 30°C at the moment, and the temperatures are supposed to rise in coming days.
They get as high as 40°C in the warmest days of summer.
The leaves on weaker hornbeams get burned, so I am curious how its gonna be with this one since it is on full sun since morning till about 3pm.
Hopefully it will endure it, if not, I will have to move it someplace else. I wouldn´t like that cause it weights about a ton

This is the tree that I prepared - pruned - roughly at the same time when I collected the tree in this thread.
It is a hornbeam too, and it is interesting that it had very little growth this season, left growing in it´s natural environment compared to one that was collected and planted on a marble plate.
I take it that with a good care, the trees are better off in our pots, being loved and pampered, what do you say?

Agreed for certain cases. I lost several hornbeams that I left in the ground after pruning, while the ones I collected and put into pots did just fine. Same with some maples.
The pines and junipers fared the same either way.
