I cannot understand why most demonstrators of bonsai use conifers as the trees they work on.. Evergreens are hardly used. We in tropical countries would like to be shown how to grow an evergreen bonsai.

Well, in temperate climates conifers do well and tropicals suffer.
In tropical countries it is impossible to grow JWPs, but very easy to keep care of fruiting and flowering local species.
Japan is a temperate country and from Japan came the bonsai culture we follow in the west.

Junipers ARE evergreens, so I do not understand your issue..

Most coniders are used because they can be taken from a ball of green to a reasonable bonsai in a matter of hours. Broadleaved species can most of the time not be styled as drastically and development takes years. One could say that conifers are wired into a bonsai. Broadleaves are grown into it.

What you also don't seem to notice:
We are forum visitors, not the owner of this site and not the people providing the content (apart from the forum replies)

Many of us don't do tropical - as we're not in the tropics.
