Shohin Chinese elm forest

I am planning on making a landscape/forest with 4 chinese elm shohins. But im not sure what pot i should use. Please see photos and im haooy to get some tips on the pots, if the fit or whatever.

Impossible to give that advise without knowing the trees or the composition you'll make. You'd choose the pot based on that, not make the composition based on the pot.
Having said that, I would probably go for the second one.
But let's wait for the penjing expert that we have on this forum

Yeah, I'd go for that square pot. I'd probably use the first three trees, and not the fourth one.
But again, let's wait for Mimo, he has more knowledge about landscapes than I do.

OK. Nice trees, are you sure the ones that are shipped are the exact same ones that are on the images, or are the images an example?

I think the square pot would go well with the rugged looks of the bark. The rounded is too friendly for the character of the trunks.
The middle tree is too big for the trunk, in comparison to the other 4 trees. So if they all come together in one forst, make sure you trink it down quite a bit.
What is your plan for the layout?
