True. You can use your mixture. I can't tell if the tree needs repotting. If it's doing well, it probably doesn't.

Yes this is 'real' akdama.
Akadama varies a lot in quality. The cheaper lower quality turns into muck within a season. The more expensive may last longer. I stopped using it.

I use baked clay pellets, broken and as pellets, mixed with bark.
