My first book was "Pocket encyclopedia of bonsai" by Harry Tomlinson. I think a good guide, i still refer back to it.
For a bit more advanced "Bonsai master class" by Craig Coussins, its got great pics and info from around the world.

Majesty in miniature, Morten Albek.

It looks real nice, seems like a very interesting book, but somehow reading books isn't my thing... I'm too much used to watching things on my monitor.

It is about Shohin. I really should start reading it, as that's a size I'm pretty much interested in.
Advantage of smaller sized bonsai is that it takes less time to develop them :)

Harry Harrington has written 3 very good books, bonsai4me.com But there are many good books, I have several by Peter Adams, also John Naka. Craig Cousins also has written some good ones as has Peter Chan. Plenty to choose from.

Yes, those are very good books... They are:

1. Bonsai Basics. The Foundations of Bonsai.
2. Bonsai Inspirations 1
3. Bonsai Inspirations 2

I have them all  Also, Harry Tomlinson has published a good book. It treats the fundamentals as well and has a lot of good images of trees. Also it presents a lot of species care guides. This one is:

"The Complete Book of Bonsai"
