Hello there. I just wanted to know if you can defoliate a ligustrum and when is the best time to do it. Thanks!

Ligustrum can be defoliated and the best time is when it is absolutely healthy & growing.
In winter a good frost may defoliate them for you.

Ty. It's placed semi-indoor (closed balcony) so no auto defoliation for me. :)

Oh and can I defoliate only some parts of the tree, leaving some sacrifice branches alone ? Or the sacrifice br wil take over?

I have found Ligustrum to be very strong once healthy, and to come back, not matter whether you defoliate one or all of the bracnhes.
