I picked up this new tree that has some nice jin on it, but I can tell it's been a while since it's been lime sulphured as it's brown and green with algae. There's another piece further up the trunk that's even darker than this one in the picture.
I'd like to hit it with some just to spruce up the color, but I don't have a show or anything coming up for it so I'm not sure if I should wait. I can't find much online in terms of number of times per year or at what rate it should be applied just to keep the tree looking nice.
Follow up as well, I see a lot of people taking brushes to remove the exterior bark and expose the red underneath on juniper. Should this be done sparingly as well only before shows or photo-ops? Or would it be okay to clean this tree up regularly?
