Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience using either faux (cosmetic) moss or real moss with the Fukien Tea (Carmona) Tree? I was looking to upgrade the look of the base with some moss and maybe a figurine or two. I personally don't have any experience with moss, nor do I know if it has any potential downsides when paired with the Fukien. I'd love to hear some thoughts or recommendations.

Additional Info
I keep my tree indoors in approx. 70 degree temperature. Since I have very little natural sunlight, I use grow lights... and water it every 3 - 4 days. The tree is about 10 years old with no existing pest issues (that I'm aware of).

How long has the tree been in your care?

First year your only task and goal is to keep the tree alive and healthy. Agriculture first, any bonsai ish later.

Moss is for show display only and that is proboably many years in the future if at all.

Thanks for the response.

So, just for clarification... are you saying that it's not wise to have neither faux or real moss on a Fukien UNLESS it's for showcasing?

Has nothing to do with Fukien or another tree: because of the moss you just can’t see the soil underneath so you don’t know when to water. Second, you are basically growing moss ( giving moss water) but that water is needed for the tree. Moss can start to grow naturally, but is mostly removed when we repot.
