I was wondering if anyone has collected bonsai material from the uk.
What tree species have you worked with before?
What kind of places do you go to for material?
Any extra informotion of collected meterial such as if you have cultivated large tree shoots would be awesome.
obviously I know the basic information but im just curious to find someone else who has worked with wild material in the UK.
Regards
Phil

Joker..
I have some plants that were collected in the UK. Mainly creatagus.
Not many people will tell you where they get their exclusive yamadori. It is kind of hard to find good material, so if you have a location with multiple plants you do not tell..

I've seen one of those. Amazing tree... collected in the UK and styled by a well-known bonsai master who visited our club.
I'd so much like to have one of those. I do have crataegus, two I think, but young sticks, not worth the effort yet.
I guess the ones you've got weren't cheap ?

I would recommend Bonsai inspirations 1 and 2 by Harry Harrington lots of info there on UK yamadori and everything else that beginner needs to learn. I am halfway through the part 2 and loving it.
