I've always been fascinated by the smaller bonsai, the smaller the better in my opinion, and I have always wanted to try and make one for myself.
I've heard of one method of making mame bonsai which is similar to my preferred method of starting a bonsai - buying material from a garden centre and turning it into something beautiful.
In order to do this I would have to use a species that can bounce back from extremely hard pruning, and also has small leaves (or scales, like a juniper)

Any suggestions and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ed

P.S. I put this under 'advanced techniques' as it's the only category that I thought applied, despite the fact that this technique isn't very advanced
