Deadwood on an Azalea Acceptable? was created by Bonsai Bender

Okay... I have done some research and could not find my answer. I have an azalea that got a disease in a branch from some unsealed cuts (I am new, lesson learned).Could I use that deadwood in the azalea as it is trained to be bonsai? I haven't seen jin and shari on azaleas so I don't know if it is doable or acceptable. If you want a picture let me know.

I googled 'Azalea bonsai deadwood' and the third result was:

"Azalea deadwood can be very attractive, particularly on trunks. While not as traditional as on Junipers, the effect can work quite well in bonsai."

It would rot away fast. Do not incorporate it in a design that is to last.

No it just wouldn't work, well my opinion. You're trying to create, a tree that known for it's spring beauty, full of flowers. Just doesn't fit in my imagination.
Those things grow slow, and rot fast.
Just speaking, as one that had to take over an old garden bush, it's gone, now (some one decided it was in the way, and never asked if I wanted it)

If the branch is diseased then it should be removd. Deadwood needs to look as if it is natural, not contrived Also it is usual to use live wood to create Jinns etc not wood that is dead. So if it is going to look right then yes but otherwise no.

Must be doing something wrong then. I am creating Yin from dead branches and died-back tops of plants. In other words; I do not agree.

No you are not doing anything wrong I did not suggest you cannot use dead wood. It depends on where the wood is and how dead it is if that makes sense.

I can not believe that the article on the google search actually talked about it. I scanned the article and saw where they talked about it but they only saw the part about deadwood on the trunk. I figured they were only going to talk about Sabamiki.
Thanks for the feedback. I was going to try to do something different but now I understand why it hasn't been done.
