This is the miraculous story of a this dead spruce
It did not survive the winter as the harsh winds blew it on it's side , and the hard frosts froze the roots .
All hope was lost , but it's creators hope was still there , so he still took care of it .
It was only on Easter day , when he went to water it that he saw the miracle , the tree had buds , it was .....ALIVE!!
It was the second coming , this is the famous spruce now
And they all lived happily ever after ( apart from all the other trees I killed this year lol )
Ps : this is for Kristof

Maybe not as spectactular, but I had something similar. End of autumn, after a warmer period, all buds on my larch started leafing out. Then it got colder - as it should - and all foliage died off. I thought it was a goner... there were no buds left on the tree, just dead foliage.
I anxiously awaited spring. The tree is a Yamadori, and while it was not expensive, relatively speaking, it still was a considerable amount of money I paid for it.
In spring, I spotted green bits in the center of the dead foliage. The tree was alive, the seemingly dead buds leafed out again, and now it is looking great. I posted a picture of it in its progression topic some time ago.
Here is what it looked like beginning of this spring. I think I forgot to make pictures in autumn, when it looked quite dead...
Moral of our stories: don't give up too soon

This happened to me recently. Several trees I got from Arbor Day were sticks when they arrived and stayed sticks for a year, but I kept watering them and treating them the same even though the fingernail test was iffy. And more time passed until they started growing like normal trees
