SO, I had one bad experience with Yamadori. Im new to it, but realized quickly after trying to get a tree from a friend's place that I didn't have enough skill with this. For a beginner like myself, it seems that we are much more likely to do terrible harm than any good with yamadori... So why not just air layer stuff? obviously this will provide me with many trees, and perhaps its a little bit harder to find a great trunk this way, but I feel SO much better knowing Im not killing trees. Before you gained the needed skills and tools for yamadori, did you ever do air layering to harvest?

Cna you all please describe or show pictures of material you gained through air layering in the wild? I want to know if you have had much success with this rather than yamadori, and any tips.

I never killed a collected tree.

On the other hand I had layers that were not succesfull. I also had layers that were succesful but died on me later.

So for me: yamadori > air layer
