New pot by Onodera.
I need this trunk to thicken.
As seen on the shohin course here at Bonsai Empire, added organic soil on top to hold the loose draining inorganic mix. Eventually it will penetrate the mix on every watering, but by then the soil will be stable.
Will wire as soon as the plant recovers from repotting.

BUT....
I made a mistake by changing the front of the tree, turning it clockwise. The issue to avoid was the low left branch going almost straight to the front. But by turning, I lost the nice upper movement of the trunk, and the way it is now it seems to split forming an ugly "V" with the high right branch.
Picture below shows "old" front, which now I see is much nicer (yes, I will eventually chop off the poking low branch).
It's done, so now we wait and grow another full season and repot it to a new front next year.

i can definitely see how you lost that trunk movement with this new front placement. im glad you didnt decide to chop it. BTW the pot looks good. what color berries on your Pyracantha?
