Hello there,

Plant it in the ground for two, three years... Water it, fertilize it and fatten up its trunk all of this while pruning it in order to keep it tight and the foliage closer to the trunk. Maybe then, you can plant it in a pot and start all over again from there... The thing is Bougainvilleas are such a beautiful trees...

Here's a picture of a nice cascading bougainvillea. They had more.
