Hi everyone, after a few months caring for a Chinese elm and totally getting into bonsai I decided to give it a go creating my own. I have been steadily educating myself but certainly consider myself an absolute beginner. Anyway from nursery stock I created these two plants and have to say I am quite proud of them.
I can't help but think though that heavily pruning these plants in 30 degree Italian sunshine might end up being detrimental. What are the chances of survival? Any other constructive criticism or advice would be welcome. Thanks guys

They look nice! I’m a beginner as well but they look good to me.

Congrats, not bad for a first timer.
One thing you could certainly improve is the wiring; some of the wires are doing nothing to the tree, others are too lose or too tight, there are crossing wires here and there...
I will leave a link to a free video that is the best for learning how to wire properly, enjoy it!

To me it sounds like an OK experiment. If you loose branches it would be due to mistreatment, not due to the pruning in the sun.
I would try to get a bit dtronger wire and give the branches a bit more bends in them. It looks a bit static.
All in all not a bad start!

Thanks for the advice guys. I must admit I did wing it a bit with the wiring. I might give it another go. I like the idea of getting some more bends into the branches. Is it possible to view the full wiring video for free or just the preview?

Yes, it is totally free.
You have to fill in a form before getting access.
Go for it, it is a very good video.
