A couple of years ago, on a whim, I collected this seedling on the Island of Mallorca, because I thought I might be able to try and make something out of it. It seems that a growing branch will backbud next to the place where leaves attach. I made a few cuts here and there to see what would happen... I was told it would backbud, but I wanted to see for myself. When I got it! It maybe 2 cm tall and had three leaves... this is about 3 years of growth.. I don't want to put it in the ground because Spanish winters are much more mild...

Have any of you had experience with this species?
I'm debating on when side to cut, or if I should cut both sides.
