Starting bonsai from a cuttling or air rooting? was created by majakazazic

I am new to bonsai and I would like to grow Flamboyant Royal Poinciana Tree (pictures attached). I have one huge tree growing in my back yard. I can take a cuttling and try to root it, I can try from a seed, or I can try to air root it.
What is the best method to do this?
I would prefer not to grow from seed to speed up the process.
I have MANY options and branch selections. I am just not sure which branches are best to use and what I should look for when starting the bonsai this way. I purchased the online courses as watched but this wasn't discussed.
Also any videos or instructions are appreciated.

Thank you. :)

try a few of each, sometimes they work but sometimes. not. The time of year, is most crucial. When does it bloom?

It’s in bloom right now. Should I do it when it blooms or not or...?

Thank you,
